Merry and Bright

Tis' the season of ugly sweaters and festive knitwear.
Ho Ho how you doin' folks. Bit of a change of scenery isn't it? Hartlepool is considerably greyer in the winter and it's virtually impossible to find nice places to shoot. So when all else fails, I guess the only option left was to pay a trip to the only remotely colourful place left, the arcades.

Christmas is firmly upon us... yikes, queue a 'where did the year go' quote. With that, I've been swerving ugly christmas jumpers and furry parka jackets like Keanu Reeves in the Matrix. I don't know what it is about this time of the year, but I find it relatively hard to find clothes that I like. December is my birthday and christmas month and I tend to be a little bit more sensible with my buys. So when it comes to summer, and I'm more than likely broke AF, I can make use of the versatile pieces I purchased in the winter. For example, this High Neck Knitted Jumper* I was kindly gifted by LOTD will look splendid with a denim skirt and vans.

Judging by how much this Lazy Oaf Cardigan has been on my back since I bought it, this is also going to be a firm fave in 2018. Although it's a tad more expensive than what I'd usually pay for a cardigan, it's a real eye catcher and the quality is always top notch from Lazy Oaf. If you're still looking for great christmas gifts for women, I'd highly recommend checking out Jack Wills' giftwear range. FYI, they've got a whole bunch of colourful festive fancies that aren't as pricey as Lazy Oaf along with some great beauty and sleepwear bits.

I'm currently writing this post wearing the Jack Wills checked lounge pants and eating a good old M&S mince pie, so I can vouch for Jack Wills when I say these are super comfy and roomy enough for my christmas food baby. Here's a few more statement knitwear pieces I've been loving that you can wear all year round too if you loved my Lazy Oaf cardigan .. Ciao for now x

The 'Treat Yourself' Gift Guide

First of all, excuse my absence (pretends to be shocked). Your girl is in final year and genuinely hasn't had a minute to think, let alone write about Christmas presents. But, alas! I'm here, halfway through my deadlines with a gift guide for you lovely lot. I'm thinking of completely rebranding and making that dreaded move to Wordpress in the new year, so I'm pretty damn excited about that!

Since I'm a December baby, December is the month I firmly believe in treating myself and I always take inspo from what my favourite bloggers think I should be spending my pennies on. Whilst it's all good and well to round up a whole bunch of things that have caught your eye. I thought I'd share a few of my favourite products I've lovingly tried and tested, that I think would be perfect under the tree.

First up, is the Limited Edition Magnitone Cleanser*. I used to own one of these babies many a moon ago and sadly lost it, so when the lovely Emma at Fetch Publicity asked if I wanted to be part of the Christmas Campaign, I couldn't wait to jump on board. Especially since the limited edition set features a Rose Gold brush, I mean... every bloggers dream, am I right?

The barefaced box comes complete with two brush heads. One, Active Clean - the standard head which is soft enough for most skin types. The second, The Stimulator which is the real MVP in my opinion. It's made of rubber bristles, rather than the skin-kind bristles of the Active Clean. Which means that it really massages and works your skin and it's amazing for applying creams and moisturisers.

The set also includes a cute little travel bag and a wireless USB travel charger, which I think is an absolute lifesaver. Especially if you're anything like me, I almost always forget to take different plug adaptors with me on holiday, so having a USB charger I can just plug into my macbook is a godsend.

I'm already reaping the benefits of using this brush day and night. My skin feels so soft and squeaky clean. It's the perfect gift for girls who are lazy when it comes to skincare, totally makes you feel like a right cleansing queen. The brush itself really couldn't be easier to use, simply pop on your cleanser, press the button, move on to the next area of your face when it beeps and you're done, easy. Snazzy skin in 60 seconds.

There's currently a massive  £40 off this set at Argos too, so grab one while you can!

As you can probably tell by how much I've got left in the bottle, this  Monsoon Rose Gold* perfume has been my go-to scent this month. The perfume itself comes in a gorgeous minimal box and shock horror, it's rose gold again. Bonus points to Monsoon too, as it's also cruelty free.

The smell is pretty, fresh and floral, everything I look for in a perfume and the staying power is impressive for such a low priced fragrance. I can pack this on for my 9am lectures and still smell it on me once I get back home. Definitely a perfect, guilt free, affordable gift.

Here's a few other beauty products currently on offer too I've been spying on too, that Pixi set is calling my name:

Thank you so much for reading and baring with me.
I've got a few exciting winter collaborations coming up so stay tuned, lots of love x
