July Beauty Favourites

July Beauty Favourites

Well, cya later July. God you've been quick haven't you?! Now I have to sit here and contemplate the fact that my summer is almost over, I've caught absolutely no trace of a sun kissed glow and I have to start mentally preparing myself for final year of university soon - bummer. But I discovered a few banging beauty bits this month, so I guess you weren't all that bad. I've had quite the penchant for a lotta things lately and surprisingly they're all really affordable, so bare with me - it might be a wordy one!

Estee Lauder Pure Colour Love Lipstick in Blaise Buff

Honestly, I wish I didn't love this lipstick as much as I do. I went to my local Estee Lauder counter in the hopes of getting a sample of double wear to try out. But due to my underwhelming ability to simply say no and a ridiculously pushy saleswoman, I left spending an absolute arm and leg. After testing out a lot of Estee Lauder products and them being completely average and overpriced, I weirdly fell in love with this lipstick. The shade is a gorgeous 'me, but better' type and it's a very comfortable matte. The longevity is great and the thing I love the most is the smell. Omg, it literally smells like a yummy vanilla buttercream. Go out and swatch one, you'll totally know what I mean.

Sleek Distorted Dreams Palette*

The thing I'm most excited to babble on about is the Sleek Distorted Dreams Palette. I was kindly gifted this by the lovely gals at Brandnation and I absolutely love it. Being such a fan of the infamous Solstice palette, I was kind of sceptical that this palette wouldn't compare - but I was soooo wrong. The shades, I admit, aren't necessarily everybody's cup of tea as they're quite luminescent. But I love it, total unicorn vibes and I'm hooked.

What I loved most about the Solstice palette is the mixture of cream and powder highlights as I found that the cream ones worked really well for me. So thankfully, this palette has a whopping three cream formulas. My only niggle with this palette is that the blue/lilac highlight is so teeny and it's my favourite one because it's so pigmented so I can tell I'm going to run out of this real quick. But the palette is so affordable at just £10.99 for five shades, I think I'll survive.

Patisserie De Bain Sugared Violet Body Spray

When I was interning at Closer Magazine, I got to see some of the most amazing PR packages and one that stuck out for me was Patisserie De Bain, I just remember the most gorgeous smell coming from the box. So, naturally, when they were holding a giveaway on their Instagram page a couple of weeks back, I entered and won - woohoo! This scent is insaaaaaane, if any of you ate and loved Palma Violets when you were younger as much as I did, then this is the body spray for you. I've almost used this whole bottle in the space of a month because I just keep unnecessarily spraying myself with it because it smells so good. If you seen my Insta story of when I received this package, they included a tiny little bottle with an even tinier cute quote and some baby palma violets. You can tell Patisserie De Bain really put thought into their products and I love brands that go the extra mile - so I'll definitely be repurchasing!

St Moriz Skin Perfecting Tancealer*

I'm going to do a single review post on this tan because it's just so damn good - but in the meantime, I thought it deserves a mention here because July has been the month of blessed false tanned legs, down to this miracle. I've been a loyal St Moriz fan since I was in school, I've tried several different brands over the years from all different price points and I always come back to my trusty St Moriz mousse. However, the waiting process is something I hate about tanning, going to bed sticky and gross is such a pain #palegirlproblems. So when I received a press release on this new St Moriz Tancealer which sets instantly, I obviously had to try it out. This is such an amazing product for when you need a tan in a hurry, it's totally streak free and provides great coverage. This has been such a lifesaver for me when I've been too hot and bothered to tan on an evening, I just pop this on in the morning and bam, golden legs for days. Although the teeny applicator you get with the tan is pretty useless, I would 100% recommend you try this out if you're a false tan addict like me, it's a staple.

H&M Nail Polish in Sepia

I don't know about you, but whenever fashion brands bring out a beauty line I always assume it's going to be a little bit.. naff? I mean, if they're spending all of their time and attention on clothing and accessories - why would the beauty be any good? I was recently making an order with H&M for some blogging bits and bobs (if you haven't looked at h&m for blog props, definitely do!). I decided I'd go out on a whim and try a few bits from their beauty line too.

I was instantly drawn to the selection of nail polishes, the design of the bottle is so pretty and retro? and even if I didn't like it, it could double up as a blog prop in the background of a photo - so it was a win/win purchase. I've really been taken aback by how good this polish is, I'm a beige/nudey nails kinda gal so the colour is perfect for me for starters. Then the longevity of the actual polish is so good, I can go 4-5 days without topping up this polish. Which is honestly a miracle for me because I'm always fiddling about with my nails. So yeah, would 10/10 suggest you try out these polishes if you're on the hunt for a new affordable one.

Koko Amore Lashes*

I've really been trying to 'up' my makeup game lately and that involves taking the plunge and wearing false lashes. I'm honestly absolutely hopeless when it comes to applying them but I've been practicing and getting better! I was contacted by FalseLashes a few weeks ago asking for me to review a few pairs. I went with the Koko lashes in the strip 'Amore' as I've seen so many people talking about these. They're the perfect, subtle shape for everyday wear and they look so pretty on. You can use the code LASH10 for 10% off the whole range if you fancy trying some too.

  2. I really liked the formula of the pure colour envy lipsticks. The shade you picked up sounds lovely, it does look a bit deeper in the swatches. The H&M nail polish sounds lovely for an everyday colour too, my local stores barely have many of the beauty products in though x
